Heritage, Wake Forest — Drilled, blasted, and crushed most
of this 1,000 acre, 21 neighborhood subdivision located in Wake Forest, NC. The
community is comprised of single-family lots, multi-family parcels, commercial sites,
and a golf course.
Brier Creek, Raleigh — Drilled and blasted much of the 2,000
acre subdivision in north Raleigh, NC. Brier Creek includes single-family homes,
multi-family living structures, a massive shopping center, and a golf course.
Highland Creek, Raleigh — Drilled, blasted, and crushed most
of this large Centex housing development in northeastern Wake County, NC. Highland
Creek offers single-family homes, multi-tenant homes, an 11,000 square foot residents’
lodge and fitness center, two pools, jogging trails, and multiple parks and sports
courts.
Kitts Creek, Morrisville — Drilled and blasted this large
subdivision by ExperienceOne Homes located in Morrisville, NC. Kitts Creek provides
single-family homes, multi-family homes, a three acre public square, a 6,200 square
foot community center, and pedestrian-friendly sidewalks throughout.
Commercial
Triangle Towne Center, Raleigh — Drilled, blasted, and crushed
most of this site for this regional mall located in Raleigh, NC. The mall consists
of 165 stores, covers 1.25 million leasable square feet, and offers almost 6,000
parking spaces.
Embassy Suites, Brier Creek — Drilled and blasted for this
eight story hotel located in Raleigh, NC on behalf of CC Magnum. Four stories of
the hotel are located underground, with an adjacent five story hotel located in
very close proximity.
Owens & Minor, Raleigh — Drilled, blasted, and crushed this
eight acre site, on behalf of Ellington Contracting, for a 150,000 square foot Owens
& Minor distribution center. Blasted for structure, parking lot, retention ponds,
and utilities.
WakeMed, Raleigh — Drilled and blasted for this Faulconer
Construction project on an existing hospital east of Raleigh, NC. Some of the blasting
was executed within eight feet of the existing intensive care unit.
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill — Drilled and blasted
for Faulconer Construction. This project enabled the construction of a new Imaging
Research Building on the UNC campus and included cuts in excess of 40 inches. The
blast site was adjacent to several existing buildings and roads.
DOT
NCDOT U.S.19 — Currently drilling, blasting, and crushing
for Taylor & Murphy Construction in Ashville, NC, and Young & McQueen Grading in
Burnsville, NC. Project objective is to widen limited access road U.S. Route 19
in North Carolina’s Madison and Yancey counties from two lanes to four. The 13.5
mile long project includes work on six bridges and adding turn lanes at crossroads.
U.S. 19 has been identified by NCDOT as a strategic highway corridor for the role
it plays in regional and statewide mobility.
Hopson Road — Drilled and Blasted for Thompson Contracting
and NCDOT on this 2 miles stretch of road that extended Hopson Road from N.C. 55
to Louis Stephens Drive in Research Triangle Park.
NCDOT U.S. 64 — Drilled, blasted, and crushed for U.S. 64
widening near Pittsboro, NC. Focus of the project was Branch Highways and Brown
Root.
U.S. 311 — Will start drilling in blasting for a $99.7 million
design-build project with Barnhill Contracting of Tarboro, NC in September ’09.
Project focuses on a 6.8 mile stretch of road with ten bridges along U.S. Route
311 High Point Bypass in Randolph County.
